Two men have a drink in a bar in Auckland, New Zealand. One is an aggressive South African migrant, John, an engineer, the other a hung-up New Zealander, Kyle, an actor. They discover they were born on the same day. At first things seem civil, but soon they start turning nasty. The film climaxes in the grungy bar’s toilet, or john, with a surprising twist.
